To realize our school’s vision for every Regenite to be a Learner and a Leader, the Pupil Leadership Committee aims to put in structures and programs to develop our pupils to be able to lead change and inspire others. The committee’s vision is to guide and enable all Regenites “To Lead, To Serve and To Transform”.
Pupil Leadership Committee is a dynamic committee that is made up of three sub-committees, namely the Pupil Council, the Class Committee and the CCA Leaders Committee. The committee also oversees the Values in Action (VIA) programs for all pupils.
The committee adopted the ACS process (coined by Centre for Creative Leadership in America) – Assess, Challenge and Support to allow the Pupil Leaders to be more aware of their strengths and weaknesses and to bring the Pupil Leaders out of their comfort zone to be exposed to new situations. Through the ACS process, the Pupil Leaders will learn and pick up new leadership skills and transform themselves to be a better leader.
In 2012, the Pupil Leadership Committee guided the Pupil Leaders on a Service Learning project to host the Special Olympics Family Day for the Special Olympics Organization at Regent Secondary School. This has allowed our Pupil Leaders to exhibit empathy as well as to understand the spirit of inclusiveness. In addition, the project has been awarded the Bronze award for the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM) Service-Learning Club (SLC) Project Accolade 2013. This is one of the projects created to enable our Pupil Leaders to demonstrate the leadership skills they have learnt.
