All students are passionate in the arts, and able to create and appreciate different dance forms
Spread knowledge and appreciation of dance to the school and community as passionate advocates
Movement and Dance (M&D) seeks to develop the love for Dance in all its members. It also aims to intensify our students’ appreciation for the various Art forms and to offer opportunities for every student to develop their talent in Dance and leadership.
In M&D, we expose our students to various dance forms such as contemporary, hip hop and lyrical styles. We believe in welcoming anyone who is interested in dance and challenge each member to reach their personal goals in their performing arts journey. Students are given opportunities to perform at a school, community and national level, including Cultural Night (2018), Yew Tee CC National Day Dinner (2018) and the SYF Arts Presentation (2019), where we were awarded the Certificate of Accomplishment. M&D also believes in giving back to society through our Values-In-Action (VIA) programme. Over the past few years, we have carried out student-run VIA projects at the Botanical Gardens, Fei Yue’s Senior Activity Centre at Limbang, and MWS Nursing Home.
With the support of our school leaders, teachers-in-charge, and resident choreographer and instructor from EV Dance, Movement and Dance looks forward to growing in strength and developing confident students by providing its members with various avenues to lead, learn and perform.
