Cross Country 2019
Cross Country is an event for our students to participate in a competition that requires them to train up their fitness. The race is held at the Rail Corridor just outside the school, and students learn to appreciate the nature around in the community as they run.
Cluster W6 Sports Day
The Cluster W6 Sports Day is organized by the PE departments of the various schools in the cluster. The students who have done well in our internal Sports Carnival are chosen to represent the school. This event provides students, who are not in the school teams, with an opportunity to participate in 2nd tier competitions. Participants make friends through these sporting events and our CCA leaders practice their organizational skills in managing the competitions.
Sports Carnival 2019
On the 12th of April 2019, my classmates and I participated in the Annual Sports Carnival. The games allowed the students to enjoy a variety of sporting activities and test their skills in the different areas of Physical Education. The event provided a platform for students to demonstrate our school values – Respect, Empathy, Determination and Integrity. Most importantly, it was a day that encouraged active and healthy living.
The teachers were supporting their classes enthusiastically. Class cheer and class support was really innovative this year. Many of them had their faces painted and brought with them several props to cheer on their classmates.
My class had a mini pep talk before the start of the cohort matches. It was good to see that many of us were on the same page. We agreed that it was more important to have fun as a team and that winning or losing was really not as important.
The Boys Plate Team eventually won and became champions. We were very proud of them and the whole group of boys went up on stage to take photos as it was our last sports carnival together as a class. On this day, winning was not the most important thing. By Haris (Class 4-1)
