Staff Appreciation Day 2019
On 5 September 2019, the Student Leaders planned and coordinated the Staff Appreciation Day 2019 themed “Celebrating with a Grateful Heart’. On this special day, students expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the teaching and non-teaching staff for the warmth and care that they have given to the students under their charge.
The highlights of the celebration were the Class Party planned by the respective Class Chairpersons for their Form Teachers and Subject Teachers as well as the Concert performances coordinated by the Student Councillors.
The concert was made up of interesting games such as ‘Guess the Teachers’ where students have to guess the identity behind their teachers’ photos when they were young, teachers and students pairing up to stack cups and Limbo dance game. It was an absolute joy to see the teachers having fun and students cheering enthusiastically for them!
Other concert items were put up by the Pop Band, Show Choir and M&D. One of the most memorable part of the concert was definitely when teachers made surprise appearances and performed together with their students. Everyone enjoyed the teachers’ and students’ performance immensely and applauded heartily.
The celebration ended with the finale performance by a team of teachers (including our Principal) singing to the song ‘If we hold on together’ by Diana Ross. The message of this item was that we are all in this together and that if we hold on to each other, we will definitely be able to achieve our dreams.
The culture of appreciation was evident throughout the day’s celebration and it was very touching to see the students show their gratitude to the school staff.
It was indeed a memorable Staff Appreciation Day!
